Luvias

Luvias has always been one of Daiwa’s most popular high performance spinning reels ever. Over the years it has had several reincaations and in the Japanese made Luvias features MagSeal, Zaion and Air Rotor.

MagSeal uses magnetized oil in conjunction with magnets, the oil attaches itself to metal surfaces to form a Seal. Being magnetized this lubrication system avoids any friction, prevents dust or water intrusion, eliminating oil spray, improves rotary efficiency and improves reel life expectancy.

The Zaion Air Rotor’s arch form disperses pressure to the entire lower entire section of the rotor, dramatically decreasing stress and flexing. The hollowed out rotor system has a lighter construction with more surface area, resulting in increased strength and greater transmission of vibration. With a decrease in weight the balance has been fine tuned, with a lower centre of gravity and precise centre of axis the rotor spins with perfect balance.

The main body is made of “Zaion”, this is simply explained as a high density carbon resin composed of carbon resin and long carbon fibres. This high density material is light, strong and resists corrosion, it far exceeds the strength of magnesium in strength per unit weight comparison. Zaion transmits vibration through the reel more efficiently than ever before and it is lighter and stronger than a reel made with similar resins or graphites.
